Prakash Jha wants Ajay Devgn in all his films. However, despite the director's resolve, the busy star may not actually be able to comply.
It looks like we will have to wait for more than a year to see Ajay Devgn and Katrina Kaif together.
Their film Satsang which explores the commercialisation of spiritualism, has been postponed to the end of 2012 because of Devgn's dates.
Apparently Devgn will be shooting non-stop for back-to-back films for the rest of this year and through out the next year.
Says a source, "Prakash wanted to start Satsang at the earliest. Even Katrina who is exceedingly busy was ready to accommodate the film into her schedule whenever Prakash wanted. But then, Ajay is shooting non-stop.
He finishes Rohit Shetty's Bol Bachchan, then starts Vishal Bharadwaj's film. Then, he goes into a film by Ashwini Dheer. In spite of Prakash's carte blanche to Ajay, the director has no option but to wait to start Satsang."
Now that the differences between Jha and Ajay have been sorted out, Jha apparently wants Ajay in every film he directs.
Says the director enthusiastically, "Ajay will have a place in every film of mine that I will make from now till the end of my career. It's up to him whether he wants to be a part of all my films or not.
Where does he have the time? His dates are blocked for the next year. So yes, I will have to shoot Satsang at the end 2012. There's no question of other actors doing the roles that Ajay and Katrina have been signed for."
While Ajay's dates for Satsang are awaited, Jha will now start his other project Satyagrah with Amitabh Bachchan from January.
The film will be shot in Bhopal. Says Prakash, "Bhopal and Ajay Devgn will be the two constant factors in my cinema."
