"'Dabangg 2' starts March 2012 and releases on 21 Dec 2012!!!" Arbaaz, who turned producer with the first instalment last year, posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Arbaaz had last month confirmed that the first draft of the script was ready. They were just waiting for actor Salman Khan's dates.
Perhaps the schedule dates have been locked now for the film, which will once again see Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood.
Hopes are high from the sequel to "Dabangg", which had earned Rs.145 crore.
Arbaaz, whose wife Malaika had grooved to the chartbuster "Munni badnaam hui" in the film, had admitted earlier that he was nervous about the sequel.
"There is a little nervousness for sure as the expectations are high but we would definitely be presenting something good and interesting, " he had said.
