Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has gone to the slain lawyer Shahid Azmi's actual office in Kurla (Mumbai) to shoot the film on the latter's life. And actor Raj Kumar Yadav who plays Azmi is feeling eerie.
Says Hansal, "The minute Raj entered Shahid's chamber, we felt we had entered the real character's inner world. It was like we were inside Shahid's consciousness."
Shahid's family has thrown open its doors for Hansal's film. Says the director, "The family has been co-operative.
As I shot the film, I began to realise that we lost a truly noble soul. Raj Kumar Yadav is living Shahid's life as I am observing and covering it."
In the meanwhile, filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia took time off from scripting the sequel to make a cameo appearance as a senior lawyer and colleague of the protagonist's character in the Shahid Azmi bio-pic.
Explains Hansal, "We filmmaker-friends keep doing these things. I did a cameo for Anurag Kashyap recently in That Girl In Yellow Boots. The idea is to keep the storytelling as authentic as possible."
