Veteran actress Hema Malini, who launched her TV show "Maati Ki Banno" last year, says television today has become tough and time consuming.

"After 'Dil Ashna Hai' I did TV serial 'Woman of India'. I made around 30-35 episodes and also acted in it. But now it is too much time consuming and very very tough to make a TV serial," Hema told.

"You work on it so hard just like any other film and you see it only once. That's why I feel very sad for all the actors because they are performing day in and day out so beautifully," she added.

"Maati Ki Banno" went off air as it failed to attract audiences.
