John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra will play an assassin and his wife in producer Harry Baweja's "Karam", a
drama about retribution and fate.
After being forced to kill a little girl, John decides to quit his job as a hired killer for mob boss Captain (Bharat
Dhabolkar). But as luck would have it, his plans to live a peaceful life with wife Shalini go awry.
Captain decides to destroy his rival, Yunus, by eliminating the top dogs in the city - an industrialist, a film
producer, a constructor and the cop who backs Yunus.
To force John to carry out the assassinations, Captain holds Shalini hostage. John is pursued by Mumbai's
toughest cop, Wagh (Shiney Ahuja), who blames the assassin for a past failure.
As the body count rises, the plot twists and turns with betrayal and double-crossing. The cat-and-mouse game
sees John struggling against the forces of nature and his masters.
Baweja is best known for the super hit multi-starrer "Qayamat - City Under Threat", while director Sanjay F.
Gupta's previous credits include cinematography for "Kaante".
After John's success in "Elaan" and Priyanka's super hits "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" and "Aitraaz", the pair is
looking for a box office blast with this high octane, emotional thriller.
