Bollywood actor and Rajya Sabha Member Hema Malini and playback singer Asha Bhosle will Tuesday perform on the 56th foundation day of Madhya Pradesh here, the state government said Friday.

The function will take place at Lal Parade Ground here, Cultural Minister Laxmikant Sharma said.

While Hema Malini will present her drama 'Durga', Asha Bhosle will sing with her group.

Invitation cards will be sent on behalf of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to every household here, Sharma said.

The Madhya Pradesh government which is running a campaign to save the girl child in the state, has made the theme of the function as 'Beti' (daughter).

Cultural programmes will be presented focusing on women's creative power and capabilities.

The Morani Group, which had displayed fireworks at the Commonwealth Games last year, will hold fireworks at the function.

It will be followed by an optical 3-D laser show on women's creativity and capabilities.
