The play was a part of the two day theatre festival "Stage Door" that was presented by Leopard Creations & Weaver Studio Centre For Arts. Supriyo Hazra caught up with Paresh for a quick chat. Excerpts:
Tell us something about the play Krishan Vs Kanhaiya?
This is a hard-hitting play. You won't be able to forgive or forget this play. This play will change your perception in many ways. It is a thought provocative play.
What message do you want to convey through this play?
The message is very hard. With this play, I have got a chance to make you laugh but it is not a mindless comedy.
Do you think that the craze towards theatre will increase in coming days?
Live entertainment will never go out of fashion. With the kind of sub-standard movies, more people will come to theatre.
Do you feel that in case of theatre good new play-writers are not coming up?
No it is not the scenario like new writers are coming up specially in Marathi. They are innovative.
What is your main criteria while selecting a film?
Good script plays a very important role. If good script comes my way, then only I will do the film.
Recently new films are using various 'filthy words'. Do you support it?
I support good cinema and good story. It should move me as a civilian. It should transcend.
How do you feel about performing in Kolkata?
Theatre has been a tradition here. Sambhu Mitra, Kumar Roy have been stalwarts. People in Kolkata love drama.
