"First of all, I am thankful to Bharat Shah for keeping faith in me and that itself is a big thing for me. I would be grateful to him for giving me a new life after such a difficult time. He kept advising me like a father and told me to be strong. He used to say, 'Bad times are part and parcel of life and you should forget everything and move on'," said Shiney.
Known for his performances in "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi" and "Gangster - A Love Story", Shiney's movie career hit a rough patch when he was convicted by a Mumbai fast track court for raping his domestic help two years ago. The actor has challenged the sentence in the Bombay High Court and is currently out on bail.
About his role in "Ghost", Shiney said: "In the film, I play detective Vijay Singh, who is called to investigate a mysterious murder in a hospital. As his investigation progresses, he realises that this is not a normal murder, there is something else to it and hence the quest starts to find the truth."
Shiney was last seen in 2008 film "Hijack" with Esha Deol, which was a dud. "Ghost" is
scheduled for a Dec 16 release.
