"Feels good to be able to take the process of making cinema to people not living in the big metros. A lot of entries are from smaller towns, " Onir posted on his Twitter page.
The critically-acclaimed director had raised funds for his film "I AM" through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, and he decided to do the same for "Chauranga", a Rs.3 crore movie.
Onir launched a hunt for composers and publicity designers for the film on social networking sites. He says he has recieved a tremendous response.
"Was very touched today when 4 college students from MALDA (Bengal) called to say that they wanted to apply for bank loan to co-own my next film. Today we did a counting for the no. of entries for the crowd sourcing events we are doing for our forthcoming project CHAURANGA directed by Bikas (Ranja Mishra).
"We had 72 entries from across 45 cities for the talent hunt for the publicity designer for CHAURANGA. We have had 26 entries from 10 cities for the talent hunt for the music composer for CHAURANGA, " he added.
"Chauranga", a movie with new actors, will be shot in Jharkhand.
