The action-comedy deals with how the life of two friends turns upside down when recession hits Britain and they are left with no choice but to strip and pole dance for a living. Hence it was a task for the designers to make sure they style two different looks of the lead actors.
Arora has styled John, who plays a banker in the film, and admits his look has been inspired by Shia LaBeouf's "Wall Street" look.
"John plays a confident banker in the film who is a perfect guy and is about to get married. So it was necessary to dress him up in a way that he is comfortable in and that goes well with his character as well, " Arora told.
"As the film is based in London we did a lot of shopping from designer stores. In fact, John's look is inspired by Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf's look in 'Wall Street', " she said.
Arora has also designed for John in "Force" and so for the corporate look, she has given him chic, stylish clothing.
"I have given him suits with banker shirts. Banker shirts are the ones with white collar and white cuffs, which is accompanied by Oxford ties and pocket handkerchief that completes the corporate look, " she said.
And as John loses job in the film, the designer has given him a distressed look.
"For the distressed look, he will be seen wearing fun t-shirts, torn, distressed jeans and leather jackets along with worn out boots, " said Shymali, adding she has used charcoal grey, blue and black colours for the actor.
Similarly, designer Kunal Rawal, who has designed for Akshay in the film, has given two different looks to the 44-year-old actor.
"As Akshay is playing the role of a young London guy. It was important for me to bring those elements, but since I have been in London before, I didn't face much difficulty in understanding the style of the people here, " said Rawal.
"Akshay's character in the film goes through an interesting emotional graph so I have used different looks in the film. From glossy look, his outfits shift to peppier ones, " he added.
"In the first half of the film, Askhay will be seen in a lot of graphic t-shirts, t-shirts with slogans, winter jackets, denims in lighter tones and fire-fighter pants, " Rawal said, adding he has also created a jacket with a sequined tiger at the back for him.
And when Akshay's character goes through the lean phase of recession, the actor will be seen sporting love t-shirts, over shirts, blazers and jackets.
"For the colour palette, I have used steel grey, beach blue, purple, black and reds. I haven't given him belts, his outfits have suspenders attached to them, " he said.
Rawal also admits that he did visit various designer stores to research, but ended up creating fresh outfits for the actor.
"I like to create my own outfits. For Akshay I have tried to make clothes that are fresh and classy. Designing for Bollywood is different as you are catering to a large number of people. So it is important that the looks that you design are fresh and exclusive, " he said.
Directed by Rohit Dhawan, "Desi Boyz" also features Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh and releases Nov 25.
