It's been over two years since the news of the sequel to Pyaar Ke Side Effects first appeared. However, it is only now that the new film is on its tracks.
Instead of the original cast of Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat, the filmmakers are putting a new cast in place for Shaadi Ke Side Effects.
And now, allegedly Vidya Balan who is to play the female lead, is asking for more money than the hero, Farhan Akhtar.
Our informer reveals that Farhan has approved of the idea and verbally agreed to act in the movie. "Farhan's dates and remuneration have still to be worked out. But the catch is that Vidya is asking for more money.
Especially since her forthcoming film, The Dirty Picture, which revolves around her character, has generated high buzz. So it remains to be seen whether Farhan is agreeable to that, " says our source.
Before Farhan and Vidya, buzz was that for this Saket Chaudhary film, Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor were being considered to play the lead. But a couple of months later, suddenly it was revealed that Kareena Kapoor would be replacing Sonam. Post that, all news regarding the sequel again died down.
With the plans of making the sequel being revived two months ago, our source says, "This time it's a brand new story about how things change after a couple madly in love with each other get married.
Farhan and Vidya who have never been cast together before will make the concept more interesting, " and adds, "But certain things need to be worked out first to sign them on."
