Kareena stated that the role was cut out for her and was enthusiastic about the fact that she got an opportunity to work with one of Bollywood's well-known directors.
"I've worked with some really great directors, one (Karan Johar) of them is here and now Shakun (Batra) as well who has given me, I think, it is one of my career-best performances. I feel like the role is made for me. So, I have given it my best. I think I've been very very lucky," said Kareena Kapoor.
The film's producer, Karan Johar, was also present at the event along with Shakun Batra.
The film marks the directorial debut of Batra, who also wrote the script.
Kapoor plays the lead role opposite Imran Khan, who revealed that both Batra and he were set on having Kapoor as their leading lady and waited for her schedule to clear before they began filming.
The film brings Kapoor and Khan together for the first time on the silver screen. Kapoor praised her young co-star, saying they shared great chemistry.
"I think 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' is like I said, that Imran has just brought a lot of freshness to most of the films that I have done and I think the chemistry is pretty sizzling and quite crackling which you would see in the promos and I actually enjoyed working with Imran. He's a very sweet guy," added Kareena Kapoor.
The film is set in Las Vegas and tells the story of Rahul Kapoor, played by Imran Khan, who loses his job and goes on to meet Riana Braganza, played by Kapoor. After a whirlwind of a night, the two find themselves married to each other.
