Atif Aslam will feature as a judge on an Indian music reality show. The Pakistani singer has been in talks with the channel that is slated to launch the venture early next year. He is expected to be in Mumbai shortly to sign the deal.
The crooner has rendered Bollywood tracks like Woh Lamhe, Pehli Nazar Mein, Bakhuda Tumhi Ho and Tera Hone Laga Hoon.
Says a source, "This is also part of the channel's endeavour to revamp itself with reality shows. Filmmaker Boney Kapoor who is part of the channel has also been tossing ideas for its makeover. With Atif they feel they can grab the eyeballs."
Stage is set
Adds the source, "Talks have been on with the singer for a while. All the groundwork has been done now; they are awaiting the singer's arrival for the formal announcement."
Apparently the singer, too, is looking forward to his television outing as a judge and interacting with his Indian fans. Atif was also seen in the Pakistani film Bol that released in India in August.
It was filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt who introduced Atif to Bollywood who is also remembered for his album Doorie.
