"I am back from a schedule in Jaipur. It is a lovely city full of colour, history and life, " says Prachi. The young lady, who spent her childhood in the small town of Panchgani, shares her wanderlust with CS:
Mountain maiden
I grew up in Panchgani. It was a small town and we didn't have much exposure to the outside world. At the same time, it was a very scenic place. I loved to explore the hills and valleys that surrounded the hill station.
So, though I have been to seaside resorts like Bali or Goa, I love hilly places more. Unfortunately, my profession doesn't allow me to make impromptu trips every now and then.
Every holiday has to be carefully thought and planned out. If I get a unexpected holiday, then I love to head off for a long drive. Goa is my favourite haunt.
Local attraction
On my trips abroad, I love to get a flavour of the local culture. When I visit New York, I like going to this place called The Village where they showcase cultures of different nations. It is also a gourmet delight.
Another city I really had a blast in was Istanbul in Turkey. Though it's a modern city, it has preserved its heritage really well.
Istanbul is also blessed with the vestiges of some great empires like Byzantine, Ottoman, European and Turkish. I also love Milan in Italy with its fashion boutiques and cobbled streets. It's on my travel wishlist.
Holiday with friends
Though people find it tough to believe, I am a hard core non-vegetarian. I love trying out new dishes wherever I go. I enjoy travelling more with friends than family members. That's because with friends you can rough it out if need be.
Comfort becomes a priority when parents or relatives are around. One funny thing is that my friends and I often lose our way while sight-seeing or shopping together. This happens more in places like New York.
On a spin
I am really looking forward to making a trip to Egypt. While I have heard that it's got a bad climate, I still want to make an effort to see the Pyramids.
I studied German as a language for a year, so I want to make a trip to Germany to exercise my linguistic skills.
In India, Kashmir tops my list. The latest addition is Spain, I am bowled over by what I saw in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
