Aamir's fans have more reason to be delighted because he has changed his hairstyle and now sports a terrifically youthful look.
The actor is determined to keep his hairstyle in sync with his character, as he did in "Dil Chahta Hai" and "The Rising".
At the launch of the film, Aamir showed off his new look: wild, curly locks falling across his forehead.
"His character is a youthful one, so Aamir's look needed to be clean-shaven and fresh. 'Rang De Basanti' is a celebration of Indian youth. Aamir represents that youth," said director Rakesh Mehra.
When asked about his new youth look Aamir said: "I feel lighter. The film is about youth and I play an easy-going character.
"I do films that touch my heart and I really liked the script and characters of this one.
"This role is an unusual and challenging role and my new look fits the character perfectly."
Soha Ali Khan is slotted to play the female lead opposite Aamir.
Other cast members include: Siddharth Narayan ("Yuva"), Kunal Kapoor ("Meenaxi"), Atul Kulkarni, Waheeda Rehman, Anupam Kher, Kiron Kher, Om Puri and Alice Paton.
One more top actor is yet to be cast, according to a source.
