Brazilian-Indian model Nathalia Pinheiro was Wednesday crowned the Kingfisher Calendar Girl 2012.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, the 21-year-old Pinheiro won the title defeating 15 models from across the country.

"I loved the entire experience of the talent hunt. Though the competition was a bit tough this time, I made a few friends during the journey. Also, the platform made me a strong individual. I am overjoyed with the entire experience of participating to winning the crown, " she told.

Pinheiro, who is also a trained opera singer, said: "I love enjoying my life to the fullest and believe in living for the moment rather than thinking about the future."

Known as Nathy among friends and family, her plan is to celebrate the victory with her close ones.

The contest was aired on NDTV Good Times. For the last six months, Pinheiro has been living in Mumbai. She was the first one from her family to enter the glamour world.

She started modelling at the age of 14 and has done TV commercials and print ads.
