Zarina Wahab left for Los Angeles on Monday night to muster support for her film Adaminte Makan Abu (Abu, Son of Adam) in order to make it into the nominations list for the Best Foreign Film at the Oscars. The nominations for the Academy Awards will be telecast live on January 24 evening.
The Malayalam movie is India's official entry to the Oscars. Zarina plays the role of the wife of the protagonist Abu (Salim Kumar) that narrates the saga about the last wish in his life the Haj pilgrimage. Salim is also the producer, writer and director of the film.
She is accompanied by Salim and other crew members who left for the US earlier from Kerala. They are slated to return to India around January 17.
She is thrilled at being part of seeking a nomination at the Oscars and looking forward to the experience of a life time.
"I have finally got my due, " says Zarina who will also be seen as Hrithik Roshan's mother in Agneepath. The cast and crew are hoping to get a nod to make it to the best foreign film nomination category list.

Shot in Thrissur and Kozhikode, the film that released in June last year has already bagged four National Awards that include Best Film, Best Actor, Best Cinematography and Best Background Score.
It has also got several honours at the Kerala film awards. The film's technical quality was specially enhanced for the Oscars.
