Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been booked by the Colaba police for allegedly assaulting a man over a heated argument at the Taj hotel opposite Gateway of India last night.

According to police sources, Khan was booked charges of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means (section 324) and punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt (section 325).

The source said that the junior Pataudi had an altercation with an Iqbal Sharma at the Taj's Wasabi restaurant and then allegedly punched the complainant.

This is not the first time that Saif has gotten involved in a fight. In 2008, a case was filed against the actor for allegedly assaulting a photojournalist in Patiala during a film shoot.

No arrests were made in the case and a compromise was worked out when Saif apologised later.

Saif Ali Khan's home production 'Agent Vinod' is due to release on March 23 and features real-life girlfriend Kareena Kapoor in the lead with him.
