Sleazy Bollywood films have been crushed by box-office reports.
The lukewarm popular response to last week's "Sheesha" and "Chahat Ek Nasha" is evidence enough that
low-budget skin flicks have lost the fizz.
None of the films in this genre have done too well, all this year.
The list of duds include Pooja Bhatt's production "Rog", along with Neha Dhupia double-starrer "Sheesha"
and Manisha Koirala's "Chahat Ek Nasha".
The signs were visible right from the second half of 2004.
Given the scenario, upcoming release "Fun- Can Be Dangerous Sometimes" that revolves around the
subject of husband swapping is unlikely to make a difference.
With skin flicks and Hollywood copycats failing to enthuse moviegoers, it looks like an open playing ground
for an intense relationship drama like "Bewafaa" set to release Friday.
The film, produced by Sridevi Productions in the umpteenth attempt for success, is directed by Dharmesh
Darshan. Music by Nadeem-Shravan is a highpoint of the film.
Anil Kapoor will be seen in a pivotal role after a long gap. The film is crucial for Kareena Kapoor too.
Other stars include Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpai, Sushmita Sen, Shamita Shetty and Kabir
Bedi.
"Bewafaa" will find a perfect foil in the clean, romantic saga "Socha Na Tha". The film in which Imtiaz Ali
brings together newcomers Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia is finding interest among college-goers.
