Blenders Pride Jaipur International Fashion Week (BPJIFW) Spring Summer 2012 witnessed 11 Indian and 2 international designers coming together to set new trends in the pink city of India, Jaipur.

This edition included showings by three local designers along with 8 established Indian designers and two international designers.

BPJIFW had a grand opening with collections showcased by designer Aruna Singh and a glamorous BPJIFW ‘Grand Finale' which celebrated 25 years of Mona Pali, one of India's most popular couture designer duos.

Bikram Basu, VP-Marketing, Pernod Ricard India, the presenting sponsors for the fashion week said, "The brand's participation only helps build this association further and in an important and emerging fashion hub."

Gaurav Sharma, CEO, Storm Fashion Company, said "Our vision to be a pan India fashion production and management company is further reaffirmed with the second edition of a global fashion property in Jaipur. We hope to support and present the best and finest talent in fashion."

Mumbai Based designer Vikramjit Choudhury's garments were inspired by the heritage cultures around the world.

Emphasis was on the use of surface ornamentation and textile development. Handloom and natural fabrics formed an integral part of his collections.

Model Harshita Saxena walked the ramp for Vikramjit.

The collection at the Mahindra Xylo Show showcased his experiences in the world of the prim and proper, to the power of the sexy chic. It was a mix of dresses in bright festive colours and embroidery.

Lida O'Reilly currently is the sole ambassador of Mauritian Haute Couture fashion design. She showcased her summer haute couture collection 2013 ‘Organic flow' and was inspired by organic shapes and nature of our paradise island, Mauritius.

Former Miss Mauritius Anais Veeraptren and Former Miss India Natasha Suri walked the ramp as showstoppers for the collection.

For the Grand Finale Show, Kolkata Based Designers Mona Pali showcased their uber-haute ‘Phirkee' collection.

Lace, crochet, tape, appliqué, latticework and thread work was fused into graphic patterns and prints to blend into an easy draped silhouette in soft sensual fabrics like chiffon and satin.

A vibrant colour palette came to life with pink, turquoise, blue and brown dominating the collection.

The collection celebrated rawness and earthiness juxtaposed with sophistication and elegance which was witnessed by Jaipur when they saw the golden diva Zeenat Aman walking the ramp.
