As Fox Star Studios and Rose Movies coming-of-age, romantic comedy London Paris New York that released last Friday has its makers quite upbeat about the film's reaction at the box office. The directorial debut of Anu Menon has worked well with the youth who are the film's target audience.
While critic Rajeev Masand called the film fresh and enjoyable, acclaimed trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh said London Paris New York, is, in all honesty, one of those flicks that dares to be diverse.
Talking about the buzz the film has created, the producer Shrishti Arya says, "Goldie and I are overwhelmed with the great feedback the film is receiving which only goes to show that our audiences are opening up to contemporary cinema...Its encouraging that our attempt to bring something different to the romantic-comedy genre is being so well appreciated."
"Well on its way to recovering its investment, the film that was made on a budget of R 7 crores has already grossed R 7.5 crore worldwide over the weekend", says Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Studios India.
The film has been performing well in the urban centres, especially in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Punjab, the films numbers jumped by 50 per cent on Sunday as opposed to its initial Friday figures, thanks to the positive word of mouth.
London Paris New York is also said to be performing well in international markets US, UK, Middle East and Pakistan.
