Apart from acting, Randeep Hooda's passion for horse riding is well known. Now there is yet another... learning musical instruments.
The actor recently started learning to play the cello. As he is busy with his shoot assignments and can't attend regular classes, he has a tutor coming over to his place to teach him the bowed stringed instrument.
Says Randeep, "I am always open to learning additional skills, especially musical instruments. I am glad that I now have an opportunity to learn the cello."
Though he essays the role of an assassin in one of his upcoming thriller flicks, the actor will also be shown playing the cello in the film.
A killer and the cello may make for an unlikely combination but as he explains, "It is part of the persona; the character has this special fascination for the cello and loves to play it."
The makers of the film felt that including the cello bit would add to the mystery of the thriller. So Randeep is also busy getting the body posture right for the screen as well besides learning how to play it.
In his recent flick Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster, Randeep essayed a guitar-strumming character for which he had to practise for an hour daily.
The actor, who is a jazz and blues fan, can also apparently handle the saxophone, the horn and a bit on the flute.
Lady long fingers
Katrina Kaif had learnt to play the cello in Austria while filming for Yuvvraj as her character demanded it.
Role ke liye kuch bhi karega
Actors sometimes go to any length to get into the skin of their on-screen character. Actor Ayushman was trained as a beautician for his character in an upcoming film.
A source says, "Ayushman plays the son of a lady who owns a beauty parlour and he works there on the days he is not on the donor duty.
To get the hang of the basic beauty courses like threading, manicure, pedicure, he took lessons from a beautician.
