Twenty years since he first sang a song for a film, Rajinikanth returns to the recording studio again for his upcoming project. Unlike his maiden attempt Adikuthu Kuliru an emotional track composed by Ilaiyaraaja for Mannan, this one, composed by A R Rahman, has more philosophical undertones.
A well-placed source associated with the movie that features Deepika Padukone and is produced by his daughter Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth, tells us that that this song was always in the plans. "However, it was only about five days ago that we recorded it at Rahman's studio.
Soundarya, Rahman and Rajni sir had discussed the kind of treatment required for this number and recorded it accordingly, " informs our source. Not surprisingly, Rajni finished recording it in less than two hours. "Rajni sir recorded the song in his usual quick style, " said our informer, while declining to reveal the lyrics.
Nonetheless, he conceded, "It's a philosophical song with some dialogue also, spoken by Sir in his trademark style." The song will be picturised on Rajni in London, during the film's next schedule, in April.
