The car of Pakistani actress Meera was impounded for plying in a high security zone here without documents, a media report said Tuesday.

The actress spent hours at the police station to get back her Toyota Corolla XLI but her efforts proved futile, sources told Dawn.

Meera's car was intercepted near Foreign Office Saturday during tight security before President Asif Ali Zardari's address to the joint sitting of parliament, police said.

The driver said he had dropped Meera somewhere in the area but could not identify the location.

He also failed to produce valid documents.

The driver called up the actress, who turned up without the documents.

The police said neither Meera nor her driver came back after leaving the police station.

Meera has acted in movies, including those made in India, like "5 Ghantey Mien 5 Crore", "Khulay Asmaan Kay Neechay", "Godfather: The Legend Continues", "Kasak" and "Nazar".
