Priyanka Chopra is officially the country's most glamorous woman now with English channel BIG CBS LOVE announcing her as the winner of the first season of India's Glam Diva. Sreya Basu catches up with the actor on her recent achievement

How does it feel to be India's Glam Diva?
Generally in nature, I am very competitive. I like being the best at what I am. But the people who were there in this contest with me, they were all women achievers.

There were some girls who have achieved so much in their fields that it was a good feeling just to be with them in the contest. Of course, winning is amazing.

How was the experience of being crowned for the third time in your life?
I won a crown again after Miss World (in 2000). I never thought I will go and participate in a pageant again and be crowned.

It feels awesome And while the winner for India's Glam Diva was being announced, I, almost for a second, was as nervous as I was during Miss World. It has been a long times, and I had forgotten the feeling to have a crown on your head. I was so excited that I felt like I am seventeen again.

I thought I was a lot of prepared this time...ab toh aadat bhi ho gayi hai ...I had won two crowns before this ... Miss India bhi bani thi aur Miss World bhi. But I was wrong ...I still got very nervous and very excited.

Do you think being in show business helped you win India's Glam Diva title?
I am not from this (film) industry; I started working when I was seventeen years old. I came to Bombay with stars in my eyes and hoping to be the best that I could be.

And when people like Siddhi (Singh; a Mumbai- based fan) believe in you, it really feels like if I can do it, anyone can do it.

If you were to give the title for the most glamourous man of India, who will it be?
If I were to confer this title in the male category, I would have definitely given it to Mr Bachchan (Amitabh).

Many actors in showbiz get under scissors to look better. What is your take on it?
Given that the kind of judgmental we are about cosmetic surgery (we shouldn't be first and foremost), not that I believe in cosmetic surgery, but at the same time, I am not judgmental about anybody's individual choices.

My parents are surgeons and so I have seen a lot of such cases where people stay away from getting snapped saying: Mujhe photo nehi leni hai as I am not that photogenic.

And you become unhappy...these things make you lose your confidence. If you can make yourself look better to feel better, I don't think there is anything wrong with it (cosmetic surgery).

You are one of those actors who constantly experiment with the characters they play...
My work is to be an actor and the main work of an actor is to be able to play any sort of roles. That has also been my ambition...different characters interest me.

Like in my next film Barfee, I am playing an autistic woman. It will always remain a special film for me; I had a lot of fun while shooting this film. Anurag Sir (Base, director) had given me a different kind of freedom to handle this character.

Buzz says things are not fine between you and Kareena Kapoore? True?
According to me, things have always been fine. I only read it in the newspapers that things are ‘not fine'. I meet Bebo (Kareena Kapoor)...things are absolutely fine...we laugh, we joke, we hang out.

Of course, we are not that kind of friends who daily go for dinner and movies together, but I respect Kareena a lot as an actor. She is a complete actor, very beautiful and very talented.
