Preeti Jhangiani may be looking forward to her upcoming Mumbai-centric film after a long break, but the actress was not the original choice for the project.
Mahie Gill was initially approached for painter-turned-filmmaker Sneh Tuli's directorial debut. However due to some last-minute issues, she was replaced by Preeti.
Says a source, "Mahi was supposed to start shooting. Her remuneration and everything else was finalised. At the last minute, however, she stated that she could not give dates according to the film's shoot schedule and decided to opt out."
Adds the source, "The director then thought of approaching Preeti. She readily accepted the offer as it is a women-oriented subject."
Explains Sneh, "I believe everything happens for a reason. It's a role tailor made for Preeti. We are having a great time working together.
Preeti has always had this good girl and lover girl Bollywood image since Mohabbatein. This film will give a new dimension to her acting persona."
Preeti who delivered a baby boy in April last year, is apparently keen to be back in tinsel town. Along with hubby Parvin Dabas, she had turned producer with the flick Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande, which released last August.
