Actress Zarine Khan says she is trying to become a vegetarian, but finds it difficult to abstain from non-veg food.

"I have been a non-vegetarian since birth, so it is not very easy. Hats off to vegetarian people... I am trying my level best to turn vegetarian," the 27-year-old told reporters Thursday at the launch of the Bhagwat Calender.

The actress, who joined the industry two years ago with the 2010 release "Veer", got a lot of flak for her plump look. But she has since shed a lot of weight.

Talking about the secret behind her trim figure, she said: "I eat whatever I want to in the right quantity and at the right time. If I have a craving for something, I make sure I indulge in it but not too much."

The actress featured in the recently released "Housefull 2". Although Zarine did not put enough light on her future projects, she thanked her fans for appreciating "Housefull 2" and making it a huge success.
