"If something bothers you, like I say that some ads bother me, I put the television off. So, if people think that promotions are getting out of hand, they don't have to pay attention, they don't have to watch the film, " Imran said at the MTV power 1 Youth forum event.
"It's ultimately someone's freedom and it's their way of promoting the film. They are taking nothing away from you, " he added.
Imran said as an actor, it is his responsibility to support the producer and participate in a film's promotions.
"I think it is ultimately the personal choice. There is a producer, who is investing crores of rupees in a product. As an actor, it is my responsibility to make sure that this guy gets his money's worth, " he said.
Last seen in "Ekk Main aur Ek Tu", Imran is currently busy preparing for Vishal Bhardwaj's "Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola" opposite Anushka Sharma. The film will also see Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azmi together on screen.
