The actress learns scuba diving and swimming in preparation for her next film

As part of preparing for a role, actors get a chance to learn and sometimes unlearn stuff. Sonal Chauhan, who is part of an upcoming supernatural thriller, overcame hydrophobia and learnt scuba diving — as preparation for her role. She recently also completed a swimming course at a suburban club.

She was hydrophobic ever since she was a child and would completely avoid stepping into the water.

As the starlet didn't want a stunt double to do any of her scenes, she decided to take her fear head on. As she says, "It was not as scary as I thought. I had a great fear of going into the water which I have overcome."

The starlet started the initial bit of training with a scuba training instructor in Mumbai and will be completing the remainder of her training in Fiji where the film will be shot. Being a non-swimmer, she underwent a very strict and regimented training routine for the past few months.

The training, she feels, is an essential part of her character model and she is putting her best foot forward to make it work. The film has Sonal Chauhan with her rumoured beau Neil Nitin Mukesh as co-star.
