Actress Shabana Azmi Friday said she doesn't have a problem with item numbers but they should be situational.

"I have far less problem with women doing item numbers than them falling on men's feet. Item numbers will continue to happen.

It is part of what women do and what they are. Whether it is required on the situation or not that matters, " she said during the release of book "Mother, Maiden, Mistress" written by Bhawana Somaya, Supriya Madangarli and Jigna Kothari.

"For example, 'Bidi Jala Le' of 'Omkara' was fantastically written. It should not be like they are surrendering to a male, " said Shabana.

Actress Parineeti Chopra, who was also there, said: "Item song 'Jalla Walah' in 'Ishqzaade' which had two girls who are dancing in front of men was not done to titillate men. I am not saying item numbers should b eradicated...I hope in next 5 years, we don't get to see any more songs like this."
