Working with newcomers makes experienced actors test their patience. It also makes their hackles rise at times. But veteran director-actor Satish Kaushik was in for a surprise while working with debutant Azim in Qasam Se Qasam Se.
A source from the unit said, "Satish Kaushik was under the impression that Azim being a newcomer would take hours on end not only to dress up but also give shots. He would have no qualms keeping artistes and other unit members waiting.
It is not unusual to see this scenario involving newcomers. Thus mentally he was prepared for a long day ahead. In fact he was of the opinion that his work would not be completed in the allotted dates."
But imagine Satish Kaushik's surprise when his work got completed much before the days allotted by him. "He could not believe it! The experience of working with Azim has left Satish absolutely impressed. The young boy's punctuality, humbleness and sound knowledge of cinema made Satish shower wahs-wahs on him.
What had Satish completely bowled over was a 400 feet one shot (around five minute shot) with long dialogues that was okayed in a single take. Satish was impressed not only with Azim's acting but dancing skills too.
The senior actor could not believe that Qasam Se Qasam Se was Azim's first venture as an actor. He also stated that given an opportunity he would love to work time and again with such an actor."
Lead actor Azim said, "Me being a newcomer, he was still extremely cooperative and patient with me. He also kept pulling my leg before the first day of shoot saying ‘allotted dates main hi kaam kar dena merey laal mere harey'. But all his doubts were put to rest. In my interaction with Satishji I learnt a lot from.''
