However news released by MTV themselves on Twitter over the weekend left the VJ turned actor's Twitter page peppered with comments from worried fans.

Rannvijay however went on to confirm that he wasn't leaving MTV. The ‘Mod' star tweeted and posted on his Facebook page, "Guy's don't believe everything, I'm not quitting MTV, thanks for all the love".

The entire saga was a planned hoax by MTV in true 'Bakra' style.
