"The grown-ups are not going to listen, they don't understand that even the earth needs to be nurtured and cared for. So the message can be passed through the kids. This song was originally made for Green Peace, an organisation, " the 40-year-old said, while unveiling a special song "Humko hai asha" on the occasion of World's Environment Day Tuesday.
The song has kids asking for the responsibility to look after Mother Earth.
"The message is very good, that kids are saying if you can't handle the world give it to us, " he added.
Shankar Mahadevan, of the composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, has composed the song and hopes that their efforts help spread the message.
"Music is a very powerful medium and communicates a lot of emotions, so we used this and thanks to Prasoonji for thinking of us to compose this song. We have tried to communicate through music whatever little we can and we hope it makes a difference, " said Mahadevan.
