If this is not a dream song, then what is? A veil of secrecy has been dropped on the historic project. But one got to know that the cinematic anthem entitled Shukriya satrangi jadugar celebrating the unbroken spirit of cinema for a 100 years has been written by Parsoon Joshi and composed by Shantanu Moitra.
Explaining the concept for the song Prasoon Joshi says, "I am blessed to be given the chance to write a song celebrating a 100 years of cinema.
In the lyrics of Shukriya satrangi jadugar I've woven the magic, mystique, charm and ageless beauty of cinema and tried to answer why the cinematic experience binds people across the world. "
Says Joshi, "When we decided to do the song Shantanu and I agreed all the major singing luminaries had to be invited to sing a couple of lines. From the oldest veteran to the younger lot, we've incorporated every voice conceivable.
I am proud to say Lataji who has been a pivotal part of our film industry for 70 of those 100 years agreed to lend her voice to this cinematic anthem, and so did every singer we approached. "
Shukriya satrangi jadugar be aired throughout the year across the television channels and radio stations.
PS. We hear Manna Dey couldn't sing due to ill heath.
