Actors Kirron Kher and Shekhar Suman turned a year older on Thursday. Kher celebrated her 56th birthday while Suman turned 51 on Thursday.

Kher started her film career in 1983 with a Punjabi feature film titled Aasra Pyar Da. But she had to take a break from film as she had to raise her son Sikander Kher following her divorce.

In between, she worked for her second husband Anupam Kher as a costume designer for a film. She returned to the silver screen in the year 1996 with Shyam Benegal's movie Sardari Begum.

The film made her win Special Jury Award at the 1997 National Film Awards. Her other films include Devdas, Main Hoon Na, Hum Tum, Rang De Basanta, Fanaa and Just Married to name afew.

On the other hand, Shekhar Suman, who is a film actor, is more popular in television.

He made his film debut in 1985 with Utsav.

Later, he was seen in other films like Sansar, Tridev and Chor Machaaye Shor to name a few.

His television projects include Dekh Bhai Dekh, Reporter, Wah janab,'chote babu' Andaz,Amar Prem 'aaha', 'main' 'vilayati babu'Movers n Shakers, Simply Shekhar and Carry On shekhar etc.

He is married to Alka Kapur with whom he has a son, Adhyayan Suman a Bollywood film actor.
