Her Bollywood career may not be going at a great speed, but Kainaz Motivala is all set to add some pace to her onscreen portrayal — by playing a driver in her next! After Deepika Padukone played a no-nonsense cabbie in Bachna Ae Haseeno, Kainaz will don the chauffeur's uniform in the film directed by debutant Vikrant Mahajan.
"I loved the script and the fact that it is not a usual, run-of-the-mill character. I liked the character of a Delhi girl looking for excitement and with a desire to prove a point to the sexist society," Kainaz said in a statement.
There was another factor that she loved about the film. "Since I knew driving, I had a lot of fun driving few of the best cars for the film," she added.
The 25-year-old, who made her big screen debut in Wake Up Sid but was noted more for the horror-thriller Ragini MMS, says she instantly liked the character of a Delhi girl looking for excitement and with a desire to prove a point to the sexist society.
Kainaz is glad that the role is not the usual run-of-the-mill character and will see the female lead taking control, and quite literally, in the driver's seat.
"Whatever you do, at the end of the day, it's the audience who decide your fate, " she adds saying that she is trying her bit not to feel the pressure of expectations. On whether she knew how to drive before signing up for the film, Kainaz quips while laughing, "Of course, I did. What did you expect?"
