Currently seen in the reality show Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa on Colors, Isha talks to CS about dance.
My favourite dance form...
Well, if you take a child to a candy store and ask him to pick a favourite chocolate, he will be totally confused. It's the same with me. I love dancing and have grown up in my parents' dance institution in Kerala. It's tough for me to pick out a particular form.
Greatest stage memory...
Two weeks back, I did a show in London, where I performed with my brother. We did a duet and there were six dancers with us. My father directed the show. It was a memorable occasion as we were together as a family.
First TV stint...
I am very happy with this show as it's giving me an opportunity to reach out to many viewers across India and the world. Till now, I have only performed in metro cities and Tier-2 cities like Pune, Indore, etc. I hope that even people in the rural towns know me after this.
Taking it easy...
I would love to do a musical film with a lot of dances. When I look back at my career, I should be proud of whatever I have done. I like to do one thing at a time. Whatever I do, I like to give it my best.
I love to watch...
I like all forms of dance. As an art, dancing is reflective of the times. Kathak belongs to the Mughal era when ladies did most of the talking through their eyes, while Salsa/Tango come from a society where women are expressive about their sexuality. Enjoy it all, I say.
Favourite dancers...
I love Mallika Sarabhai's Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam. Birju Maharaj is also another legend I look upto. In Kathak, I will be partial, it's my mom Daksha Seth.
