Two gorgeous Bollywood actresses, Kajol and Genelia D'Souza, who are mostly known for their cheerful and lively characters turned a year older on Sunday.

Kajol, who was born on Aug 5, 1974, turned 38, while Genelia, who was born in the year 1987, turned 25.

Born into a family of actors and filmmakers, Kajol, who is the elder daughter of actress Tanuja and late director Shomu Mukherjee, made her debut in the film named 'Bekhudi' in 1992.

The actress who starred in hit films like 'Karan Arjun', 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Dushman', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Fanaa', 'My Name Is Khan', holds the record of having most number of Filmfare Awards in the category of Best Actress, with her aunt Nutan.

In 2011, she added one more feather to her crown as she was conferred Padma Shri award by the Government of India for her contribution in Indian Cinema.

Kajol has been actively involved in several philanthropic activities related to women and children.

The actress married actor Ajay Devgan in 1999, and now are proud parents of a daughter, Nysa and a son, Yug.


Genelia D'Souza, who gained wide attention in a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan, made her debut in Bollywood with the film 'Tujhe Meri Kasam', with her husband Ritesh Deshmukh in 2003.

Genelia starred in many Hindi and Telegu films including 'Bommarillu', 'Satya In Love', 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na', 'Life Partner', 'Chance Pe Dance' and other films.

Her success story in Bollywood started with her film 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na', where she portrayed the role of young college girl Aditi.

Genelia endorses brands like Fanta, Virgin Mobile India, Fastrack, LG Mobiles, Garnier Light, Margo, and Perk in India.

The actress married his co-star Ritesh Deshmukh on Feb 3, 2012.
