'Hate Story' director to turn producer with a film on the underbelly of the national capital

After the success of Hate Story, Vivek Agnihotri is all set to turn producer and will soon start his next film titled Freedom. The film deals with the underbelly of Delhi and will be based between the 1970's when Emergency was declared to the turn of the millennium.

Agnihotri says, `It is a true story and has real life characters. There will be socialites, politicians, power brokers, failed actresses, etc. Earlier, I was to make this film with stars but now I have signed actors like Chandan Roy Sanyal, Shobhana, etc, as it is an ensemble cast. After Hate Story, the distributors have shown faith in me and I have the liberty to make a film without stars.`

The soon-to-turn producer adds, `One might have seen many films on Mumbai but I wonder why no one has ever explored Delhi. I wanted to make this film, as I haven't seen any city as corrupt as Delhi. Delhi has more crimes, more bribes, more socialites and more glamour than any.`
