Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, which is a primetime show dealing with adolescents, showed the first 'innocent' kiss on Indian television when Gunjan (essayed by Roopal Tyagi) and Mayank (portrayed by Ankit Gera) locked lips on screen.
The on screen innocence of the characters was reflected offline when Roopal felt extremely nervous while shooting the sequence & took a lot of time to prepare herself mentally for the kiss.
She called up her parents in Bangalore and took their permission for the kiss.
When the track was being discussed, the producer discussed it with Roopal to ensure that she was comfortable with it.
She was even prepared to alter the track a bit in case she wasn't okay with the scene.
On the day of the shoot, only four people were allowed inside the room where the scene was taking place, that included producer Neelima Bajpai.
Neelima was personally there as a mother figure to ensure things went off smoothly.
Roopal was so scared of any kind of scandal that she literally had tears in her eyes. But in the end everything went well.
Now, if readers are wondering how did the kiss take place in the first place, then here is the storyline.
Mintu (Rachna's stalker) is unable to bear the humiliation caused to him by Gunjan and he decides to throw acid on her.
Although her face is saved, Gunjan gets burnt on her neck. Mayank who happens to be present there at that moment records the incident on his camcorder and on playback realizes that the attacker is none other than Mintu.
Mayank puts this video on the internet post which Mintu is caught, bashed up by the public and arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, Gunjan's confidence is shattered because of the attack and she refuses to face anyone including the family with the scar on her neck.
But Mayank encourages her and in a moment of passion it leads to a kiss between them.
This marks the blossoming of love between Gunjan and Mayank.
