"I am very confident with this film and not insecure at all. I am very excited about this film, " Sridevi told reporters during the launch of film's first look Monday.
"I fell in love with the script. It was so real and the character was also very strong. "
Sridevi, who turned 49 Monday, was accompanied by her family including husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Jhanvi and Khushi.
Last seen in a full-fledged role in "Judaai", Sridevi says she feels like a newcomer but thanked her Gauri Shinde for making her feel comfortable.
"Thanks to Gauri and Balki, they made me feel so comfortable. Its my first film after 15 years. . . I felt like a new comer. "
Sridevi, who has worked under Shinde's supervision for the first time, says after working with Gauri, she was not sure whether she will be able to work with other directors.
"I am so used to Gauri I don't know how I am going to work with other directors, " the 49 year old said.
Directed by Shinde, "English Vinglish" is slated for a Oct 5 release.
