"We had to bring about a lot of changes to the script. I don't believe that literal translations ever work. In fact, I have also written a few scenes in the climax for this version. We have added different thoughts and emotions to the Hindi version, " she said.
The Hindi version opened Aug 26 here, while Gujarati and Marathi versions have done wonders in the theatre circuit.
The 50-year-old, known for her films like "Trishul", "Noorie", "Dard" and "Zamana", has been involved with plays like "The Perfect Husband", "The Perfect Wife" and "Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi".
A love story of two lonely souls, "U Turn, Ek Ajab Prem Kahaani" has good dose of humour, revealed Poonam.
"It is a relationship-based play about two characters who are at a stage in their lives when they are lonely and single. They come from different worlds and have nothing in common except that both are looking for friendship and companionship, " she said, emphasising on the content being humorous but not slapstick at all.
She also did TV shows like "Kittie Party" and "Bigg Boss".
