Rakesh Roshan, who was born in a Punjabi family in 1949, turned 63.
Roshan debuted as an actor in the film 'Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani' in 1970 and then acted in several other films like 'Khel Khel Mein', 'Khoobsurat', 'Bhagwan Dada', 'Khoon Bhari Maang', 'Akele Hum Akele Tum'.
Roshan set up his own production house Filmkraft in 1980 and produced their first film 'Aap Ke Deewane' in the same year.
He made his directorial debut in 1987 with the film 'Khudgarz'. Later he directed a few hit films like 'Kishen Kanhaiya', 'Karan Arjun', 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai', 'Koi... Mil Gaya'.
Roshan's son Hrithik Roshan is one of the most successful Bollywood stars of current generation and Roshan's brother Rajesh Roshan is a well known music director.
