The actor told newsmen here last night that the new venture had evoked tremendous response, having received advance orders for 1.75 lakh audio cassettes for his forthcoming ''Mumbai Xpress''.
He said there would be a cash prize scheme to promote the sale of the Audio casseettes, in a tie up with a private FM Radio channel.
Asked whether the simultaneous release of his film and his super star colleague Rajnikanth's ''Chandramuki'' on the same day of April 14 would spark off a race at the box office, Kamal said ''there is nothing wrong in it''. Already a few of their films had been released on the same day.
''There is no no ego or business rivalry between us'', he said.
It is quite natural that Mr Rajnikanth wanted that his film should be a success and I am also of the view that ''my film should be a box office hit, Kamal,who had also acted together with Rajnikanth in some films in the past, said.
''Sometimes his movie will be a hit, on some other occassion my movie will be a hit'', Kamal said, and added that he wanted both the films should be a hit at the box office this time.
Answering a question, he said the Regional Censor Board has accepted to view his film ''Mumbai Xpress'' which was produced in the digital form, through digital base on March 30.
He also dismissed criticism that he had cast Bollywood actors in ''Mumbai Xpress'', and said Tamil film actors like Nassar, Vaiyapuri, Santhana Bharathi, Pasupathy, Kovai Sarala and others were also acting in his movie.
Answering another question, he said he has no regret that Sivaji films had chosen Super Star Rajnikanth in ''Chandramuki'', though he was very close to thepsian late Sivaji Ganesan and his family.
''Chandramuki'' is my own production, If they approached him for any assistance he definitely would help them. Moreover he was brought up by late Mr Sivaji Ganesan, he added.
