Kareena and 'Heroine' director Madhur Bhandarkar recently made an appearance on ETC Bollywood Business show with trade expert Komal Nahta.
The excited duo was on the show for their much-hyped movie Heroine which is to be released on Sept 21.
When Komal asked Kareena about her character, she revealed it is the journey of every actress in the industry.
`Every actress has, is or will go through the moments shown in the film, ` Kareena said.
When asked them how much of the film is reality and to what extent is it fiction, both answered that 70-80 percent of the film is real and these incidents happen in the existing scenario of Bollywood.
However Kareena was quick to react: `I am completely different from the character of Mahi which I play in the movie. But every shot I have given is heartfelt because I am a Heroine.`
Bebo said she apparently is a calmer and more sorted person and does lose not her cool as easily as her character.
Kareena then went on to talk about how she has lived life on her own terms; there have been choices- some right ones and some wrong- and with this movie she has come a long way from where she started.
`You would not believe it is the same girl` she exclaimed.
Moving on to Madhur, Komal asked what is more important to him, awards or commercial success, to which he answered: `Awards are bonus but at the moment the most important thing to me is commercial success.`
Madhur said that his films are usually come under a lot of scrutiny by the Censor Board as he addresses bold subjects and has scandalizing characters. To which Kareena immediately jumped in and made quite the statement: `It is not a Madhur Bhandarkar film if it's not an 'A' film.`
Madhur said that all his films work at the box office and everybody makes money on the movies.
The entire budget of 'Heroine' is Rs 24 crore to which Komal joked saying that Kareena herself must have charged Rs 20 crore out of that.
As the show proceeded, the limelight was back on Kareena and on the reactions she has been getting so far on the promos and the songs that are out.
`Sharmila ji (Tagore, actor and Saif's mother) loved the promos, ` she gushed. That appreciation would be quite a compliment coming from the future mother-in-law.
Moving on to Saif, she said: `For the first time in 5 years Saif said, he has a good feeling about my film! He has never said that before for any of my movies.`
She said her dad (actor Randhir Kapoor) also loves her song 'Halkat Jawani' which is quite a hit with audiences as well.
Kareena also confessed to Komal about how she had to smoke in the film where in reality she hates smoking.
"She smoked like a pro and drank like a fish in the film, ` exclaimed Madhur.
This episode will be aired on ETC on Sept 19.
