Malaika Arora Khan says she never wanted to be an actor and is happier doing item songs

More and more actresses from Bollywood seem to be more than pleased to be embracing the item girl-tag these days. But Malaika Arora Khan is unarguably still the original item girl of the industry. The actress has no problem, whatsoever, with this tag as she admits that she enjoys dancing more than anything else. She even nonchalantly asks, `Ab hai tag toh kya karein?`

In addition to judging India's Got Talent for the first time, Malaika is busy with the production of the sequel to Dabangg too. However, she doesn't confirm anything on being asked whether she's having an item number in the film the way she had one in the original film.

`I really don't know. As of now, I'm supposed to be part of the production team. So I haven't got a clue when I'll be part of the big screen, if at all. The shooting of the film is currently going on, ` she adds.

A lot of the mainstream actresses are dancing to item numbers but incidentally Malaika doesn't harbour any ambition to be an actress. `I've never had a desire to act. In fact, I never wanted to be an actress. I just love dancing and I think I'm fantastic at it too. I'd love to continue doing that as long as I can, ` the 38-year-old signs off.

Shake a leg

Picking her favourites, Malla says, `I always say Helen aunty is the all-time best item girl and Madhuri is simply outstanding. In the current lot, Shilpa, Katrina and Priyanka are amongst my favourites but Kareena is the best of all.

And I also feel that I'm a bit biased towards her because I like her as a person too. Among the actors, I feel Hrithik is the finest dancer out there.`
