Rani Mukerji is leaving no stone unturned for the promotion of her upcoming film where she will co-star with South superstar Prithviraj. Going by the latest trend of visiting all the reality shows, Rani will be attending the finale of a dance-based show, which has Mithun Chakraborty as the judge.
Incidentally, Mithun was not scheduled to be a part of the episode as it was his off day but Rani insisted that the veteran actor attend the episode only for her.
A source says, `Rani was keen to dance on her new song Savaa dollar on the show. However she was extremely disappointed that Mithunda would not be a part of the episode. Not many people are aware but both Mithun and Mukerji family have been friends from many years.
Rani insisted that the show makers get Mithunda for the show. In fact, she specially gave a preview of her lavani number to him before she went on the set.` A source from the production unit confirms the news and says, `Rani is extremely fond of Mithunda and wanted him to be there and the senior actor could not refuse her!` .
Every marriageable girl will identify with my 'Aiyyaa' role.
In forthcoming film "Aiyyaa", Rani Mukerji plays a girl whose parents are desperate to get her married. The actress says all girls who are in this soup, including her, can identify with her character, Meenakshi Deshpande.
"I think 'Aiyyaa' character Meenakshi Deshpande is such that every girl, whose parents are trying to get her married, will identify with her. Even I, to some extent, identify with this character," the 34-year-old said here.
Rani plays a Maharashtrian girl in the movie, in which she falls for a man who smells good.
In the movie, releasing in October, Rani will be seen grooving to three different dance styles - lavani, belly dancing and Tollywood-style.
She enjoyed them all.
"For me, shooting the songs of 'Aiyyaa' have been very memorable. Every song is special and different. One song has belly dancing, the other is Tollywood-style dancing, another is a lavani.
"So I enjoyed them, I had never done belly dancing before but I learnt it for this film. Then I also learnt lavani, and Tollywood dancing is a masti dance," she added.
"Aiyyaa" is directed by Sachin Kundalkar, and features actor Prithviraj opposite Rani.
