Despite a tough competition from Ranbir Kapoor's 'Barfi', Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor's much-awaited film 'Heroine' earned an
estimated Rs. 8.5-9 crore at the domestic box office on the very first day on Friday.
"Heroine showed a good early trend on it's opening day at the domestic box office. Though the movie faced quite some competition from
ICC Twenty Twenty World Cup and Ganesha Utsava, it seems to have made a pretty well box office collections. As per early estimates
the Kareena Kapoor starre has made in the likes of 8.5 to 9 Crores at the domestic box office, " Koimoi.com reported.
Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, the film revolves around the life of a once successful actress, Mahi Arora (Kareena), whose career is on
the decline.
The film also features Bollywood actors Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda.
Meanwhile, director Anurag Basu's 'Barfi', that hit theatres on Sept 14, continued to dominate the Box Office besides winning the hearts
of film buffs.
The film has made good impression at the Box Office and collected more than Rs. 58 crore in one week.
Pertinently, the film's lead actor Ranbir is Kareena's cousin.
Audiences have also appreciated actress Priyanaka Chopra's performance in 'Barfi'.
