Model-turned-actor Siddharth Malhotra says facing the camera for Dharma Productions' "Student Of The Year" (SOTY) was a little "odd" as he had worked as an assistant director with the banner before.

"With Dharma (Productions), it is a little odd, because the same people I worked with as an assistant director, and now I had to work with them as an actor, " said Siddharth.

He says he was comfortable on the sets of the movie, and everyone was really warm.

"I guess once we go outside we will realise how it really is. Here everyone is very warm, " added the actor, who assisted Karan Johar on "My Name Is Khan".

SOTY, which also marks the acting debut of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, will release Oct 19.
