'I appreciate how Priyanka has been working to save the environment by being associated with the Greenathon initiative. I got to know that she does not take any money for all this. It is a wonderful thing, ' Mishra said at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Tuesday.
He showcased his collection, in which he used organic fabrics and said he would love to dedicate it to Priyanka. 'My collection is for someone who is very intelligent, travelled a lot, responsible enough and knows what she is choosing, ' he added.
The 30- year-old actress, who played an autistic girl in her recent release, has been associated with NDTV's Greenathon, an initiative to make people become eco-friendly and look into lack of electricity in multiple rural villages.
Mishra's collection saw warm ivory with touches of colour and gold, naturally dyed indigo, blue, black and corals. It had splashes of neons being thrown in for good measure.
About his collection, Mishra said: 'I have used all organic fabrics like Kerela handloom and organic khaadi with a lot of texturing. Organic khaadi is the oldest textile known to mankind, so the idea behind was how we can make it more relevant for 21st century. That is the reason I has used 21st century graphics. It is all about celebration of life.'
'My clothes are not about over powering the person, they are all about adding to the personality of the wearer.' Known for his love with the fabric, Mishra's design philosophy revolves around traditional weaves and fabrics such as Benarasi silks, Chikankari and Kerala's cotton handloom cloth.
